Meet our summer intern, Lydia!

We're so happy to welcome our farm intern, Lydia Barr, who's here with us for the summer! So far she's been helping with animal health work, packing and delivering orders, product inventory management, fence moving and lots of other projects around the farm.

Here's a bit more about Lydia:

Hometown: Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin

School/Year/Major: I am finishing out my last year and semester this fall at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. I am an Agricultural Business major with an Animal Science minor.

Career Plans/Interests: I have always been interested in animals and have always wanted to work with them. I choose Ag. Business to help me get a business degree and be able to have options when I graduate.

Agricultural Background: I grew up on a small beef farm that we raised for our own meat, along with a couple horses. I also grew up working on dairy farms and have helped out milking goats as well.

Why I was interested in this internship: When I was looking into jobs/internship opportunities for this summer I knew I didn’t want to do something that I had to sit in an office all day every day, this internship sounded like a fun way to spend my summer around animals and learning how to run a small business.

I'm looking forward to: I am looking forward to learning hands-on about running a small business to work alongside the animals.
