We are excited to have Grace Mansell as our farm intern with us this summer!
Grace is helping us with a variety of projects this summer, including managing product inventory, packing and delivering orders, setting up and taking down fence for grazing, animal health work, and other work around the farm.
We're excited to have her with us for the summer!
Here's a little more about Grace:
Hometown: Roberts, Wisconsin
College: Sophomore at University of Wisconsin-Madison studying biological systems engineering and genetics.
Career Plans/Interests: I hope to research animal genetics while helping farmers solve problems that arise on their farms.
Agricultural Background: Growing up my grandparents had a dairy farm that I was always involved in. When we sold our cows last year we got a small her of goats that I help with when I am able. In middle and high school I showed beef cattle and pigs at the fair through 4-H and I was also involved with FFA.
Why I was interested in this internship: As I started to decide what I wanted to do with my career, I knew I wanted to get as much exposure to different farms as possible. Being here I am able to learn about different farming practices, as well as the marketing and retail side of agriculture that I had never experienced.
I'm looking forward to: I am excited to learn more about sheep and goats and get more experience! I also look forward to helping with retail and marketing, and overall just learning and b being more involved in agriculture!
