How to Cook Goat Using the Slow Cooker
Thaw goat meat if frozen.
Lightly season the goat meat with salt and pepper and/or other spices as desired.
Heat the olive oil in the skillet over medium high heat and once hot, add the goat meat pieces and brown on all sides. Work in batches to avoid overcrowding and steaming the meat, you want to get a good sear.
Place goat meat in the slow cooker, along with the garlic, vegetables, tomatoes and any sauces and spices. If your sauce/base has dairy, or you plan on adding milk and/or cream, reserve for the end.
Cook on low for 8-10 hours, stirring occasionally if able, until goat meat is nice and tender.
Stir in any cream/milk or cornstarch and season to taste with salt and pepper and/or other spices as desired.
You’re done! Enjoy your curry or stew with sides of your choosing, such as rice, rice noodles, mashed potatoes, pasta or flat bread.
