Our county annually hosts a Farm City Day at a family’s farm in our county for our community to learn more about modern farming and agriculture. The day features tours of the farm, educational displays and activities, and lunch.
The last few years I’ve helped out with our Ag in the Classroom table, which features a variety of educational materials and some interactive activities. Since adult coloring is a big trend, I decided to create agricultural-focused coloring sheets for big and big-big kids featuring a goat (of course), turkey, rooster, cow and strawberries.
In one evening I created these four adult coloring sheets with the help of stock zentangle images from Shutterstock, so I could have somewhat accurate ag images and respect copyright laws. Each sheet included a fact related to that area of agriculture. They were really popular. I think next year we’ll add a table for kids of all ages to color at the event.
I own and manage Cylon Rolling Acres in northwestern Wisconsin. On my farm I raise Boer - Kiko meat goats and dairy buck kids all on pasture. We also harvest maple sap. Read more here.
Keep up Day-to-Day with the farm:
Cylon (pronounced Si-lon) is the name of our township in St. Croix County, Wisconsin. Sorry fans, our farm is not named after the robots of Battlestar Galactica.
